As a fact of life, there is NO such thing as "unlimited bandwidth" for free! Beware of webhosts that promise this. They will charge you for bandwidth consumption once you go above what they consider "acceptable consumption" (which is much lower than what we consider acceptable consumption), will shut down your site or will force you to move to a dedicated server in which you have to pay for dedicated bandwidth.

Another fact of life: With Diart Studio web hosting plans, you don't have to pay for extra bandwidth consumption. First, let's start with explaining what bandwidth is. The term bandwidth is given to the amount of data that a web site can output to visitors. In other words, the more files your web site delivers to your visitors (pages, graphics, etc.), the more bandwidth your web site consumes. Bandwidth is usually measured in gigabytes a day / month. If you deliver 100,000 pages a day of 10.0 kilobytes each, then your web site will consume 1 gigabyte of data per day, or about 30 gigabytes per month. Over 90% of all websites never go above 5GB of data transfer per month. We consider 10-20GB of data transfer per month to be an acceptable amount. However, there are times when web sites go over that due to increase in popularity or advertising, and can reach over 30 gigabytes of bandwidth consumption per month, which costs at an average of $5 per gigabyte. This means that in such cases, Diart Studio on Hosting-Network Inc. request might either charge for the extra bandwidth, or can reach a deal with the owners of the web site (more on that below).We are quite flexible about this, and we usually do not charge for extra bandwidth unless the web site is "abusing" our service's bandwidth. By "abusing" we refer to: Placing big files available for download. Things like games, ROMS, MP3s and other such things. Turning their web site into a storage site for other web sites (i.e. becoming a "mirror" for example), turning it into a storage for personal backups or file distribution among friends (i.e.: "I'll upload Y file so that Joe and his friends can download it tomorrow"). Web sites that are nothing but a collection of pictures (i.e. supermodel sites).

Utilization Limitations and / or Unlimited Storage

Diart Studio customers are privileged to be offered an unmonitored account in terms of bandwidth. This means we does not pro-actively monitor bandwidth usage of our customers - bandwidth policy is similiar to the common Laissez-Faire model in politics. Customers are entitiled to use as much bandwidth as necessary as long as they:
(a) do not harm other customers located on the same machine or on other machines of our network and
(b) do comply with all other terms & conditions.
All domain / subdomains account do have a moderation throttelling utility applied to their throughput. This moderation throttelling utility measures the accounts usage based on averages derived from various server tasks and services such as average CPU utilization, FTP utilization, HTTP bandwidth utilization, Email utilization - et cetera. On basis of the meaningful average value the moderation throttelling software decides if a delay of an offending account is determinded to be necessary in order to assure 100% service uptime, reliability and performance for other websites of moderate usage on same machine. HTTP moderation is set to 57 million bits per hour (in numbers: 57,000,000 bits / hour), other limitations are determined depending on average usage of the server by all clients on same machine and hence depend. We can upgrade your account for an additional 57,000,000 bits / hour, the cost for this is $300 / year later.

The intention of Diart Studio is to provide a large space to serve web documents, not an offsite storage area for electronic files.
All your downloadable files or files stored on the server have to be available for download via a HTML document stored on the Internet in a publicly or privately accessible area. This policy does ONLY apply to websites who are considered to be abusing services - HTTP and disk space utilization in particular. It is NOT applicable to photo galleries, even if several hundred megabytes of web space are in use. PHOTO galleries and / or any kind of presentation websites are more than welcome to host and are only bound to above utilization policy. Web sites that are found to contain either/or no html documents, a large number of unlinked files are subject to warning, suspension or cancellation at the sole discretion of Diart Studio management. Any customer who violates our policies in abusing any policy will be notified and given 5 days to remedy the problem. If the problem is not resolved within the allotted 5 day period, the client's account is subject to cancellation. Also we with pleasure will provide you with useful advice about your website optimization to make it run without any worries for free.
